Junior UX/UI Designer

Responsibilities

  • Design user-centered digital experiences that align with business goals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define objectives and user needs
  • Create UX artifacts such as personas, journey maps, and empathy maps
  • Support the enterprise design system through component documentation and UI specs
  • Assist with user research and translate findings into actionable design improvements
  • Evaluate vendor products for UX quality and alignment with standards
  • Apply accessibility guidelines (WCAG) to interface and experience design

  • Experience in Figma application and Adobe Creative Cloud suite applications

  • Experience with collaboration platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Monday.com, Sharepoint, etc.
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.1
  • Demonstrated understanding of user experience and user interface design

Position Information

We're looking for a talented Junior UX/UI Designer to help create impactful digital experiences for the state of Texas and contribute to building our growing UX design and research program. You'll design intuitive interfaces, collaborate on requirements, wireframes, and prototypes, and iterate based on feedbackall while learning from experienced teammates. Our ideal candidate is excited building this program, okay with working in the abstract, and helps drive decision making. Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
  • Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis OR related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in Interface design, Information architecture, User mobile design and/or web site design and production (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent)
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license
  • This position requires driving a state vehicle
  • Background in graphic design is a bonus
