Mid-Level UI/UX Designer (Contract)

Responsibilities

  • The role begins with a specific pilot project: You will partner with the Owner to design the UX/UI for a new website
  • You will take existing copy and page structures (already defined) and translate them into a polished, responsive visual design ready for development on Semplice (WordPress)
  • Upon successful collaboration on the website, this role will transition into more UI/UX work for 2026
  • Hours: Flexible (approx. 10–25 hours/week depending on project phase)
  • Work Model: Hybrid (Must be located in NYC for occasional in-person collaboration)
  • Start Date: Immediate / January 2026

Skills

  • Portfolio: Must showcase both strong marketing web design (portfolios, agency sites) and functional product design (dashboards, apps)
  • Figma Mastery: Non-negotiable (Auto Layout, Components, Prototyping)
  • Web Fundamentals: Strong understanding of grid systems, responsive breakpoints, and how design translates to CMS platforms like Squarespace, WordPress/Semplice
  • Experience: 3–5 years professional experience
  • Communication: Ability to articulate design decisions clearly and work collaboratively with the Owner

Benefits
