UI/UX Designer - Hybrid

Responsibilities:

  • Position will be 2 days remote with 3 days (Mon, Tues & Thurs) required to be ONSITE
  • Understands business objectives and problems, identifies alternative solutions, performs studies and cost/benefit analysis of alternatives
  • Analyzes user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer system: Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements, such as forms of data input, how data is to be; summarized, and formats for reports
  • Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program
  • The role of UI/UX designers is central to improving accessibility, usability, and responsiveness of the HHSC eligibility systems
  • Lead user research initiatives and journey mapping to gain deep insights into user interactions and identify opportunities for optimization
  • Develop wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies in accordance with established accessibility guidelines and branding standards
  • Collaborate with Code for America and cross functional teams to apply industry best practices in UI/UX design
  • Engage in discovery workshops, feedback sessions, and sprint planning to ensure that design decisions are aligned with business objectives
  • Employ a comprehensive suite of tools—including Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, and Hotjar—and implement usability testing, responsive design, and SEO optimization strategies

Skills:

  • Hands on experience designing user interfaces and experiences for enterprise systems, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual hierarchies using tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch. 11 Years.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non technical teams, translating business needs into intuitive design solutions that align with accessibility and branding standards. 11 Years.
  • Experience applying UX design principles such as hierarchy, contrast, and alignment to create responsive and accessible web and mobile interfaces. 10 Years.
  • Experience creating wireframes and prototypes that support agile development cycles, including sketch to visual fidelity transitions. 10 Years.
