Senior Product Designer

Responsibilities

  • Execute innovative and effective digital communications, user experience and interaction designs that stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Guide clients and teams through the full UX process — from discovery and definition to high-fidelity design — bringing clarity to ambiguity and aligning user needs with business goals.
  • Collaborate across disciplines (Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing) to define, prioritise and deliver impactful solutions that lead to award winning work.
  • Effectively communicate design decisions and approach across teams, clients, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment and shared understanding.
  • Lead the creation and evolution of Design Systems by identifying repeatable patterns in products, designing accessible and reusable components, and maintaining scalable Figma libraries.
  • Document best practices and usage guidelines to help designers and engineers understand how, why, and when to use specific components or patterns
  • Contribute to business development, branding and marketing materials.
  • Contribute to asset management, collation and archiving.
  • Learn new skills, stay abreast of technical and digital design developments, and successfully apply these to work practices to improve processes and procedures.
  • Foster high design standards at Kablamo by mentoring team members and contributing to design critiques, helping shape a strong and inclusive culture within Kablamo Studio.

Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in product design in a tech or SaaS environment
  • A solid grasp of design fundamentals, including prototyping, user research, UI and typography.
  • Able to anticipate user needs and advocate for the user while balancing short and long-term product goals
  • Mastery of Figma
  • Experience designing both web & mobile applications (with a portfolio to showcase your work!)
  • Expertise in design systems, including tokens, components, and libraries — with the ability to build, scale, and evolve systems in collaboration with front-end teams.
  • Understands and applies accessibility principles across web-based platforms
  • Experience in an agile environment, collaborating end-to-end across product lifecycles: working with Product, Engineering, QA and Business Development
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – comfortable presenting concepts, communicating design thinking, and creating high-quality visual outputs (prototypes, slides, one-pagers, simple web layouts)
  • Prior experience mentoring or managing designers

Qualifications

  • Experience working with external clients
  • A degree in design, interaction design, visual studies or other design-related fields
  • Experience working on enterprise or B2B products
  • Basic knowledge of Front End development
