Accessibility-Focused UI/UX Designer

About the Role

We are on the lookout for a talented UI/UX Designer who is passionate about creating accessible and user-friendly interfaces for both web and mobile platforms. In this role, you will have the opportunity to design inclusive digital experiences that meet EU accessibility standards. You will collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to transform thoughtful design concepts into engaging and functional products.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver accessible interfaces for web and mobile applications.
• Ensure compliance with EU accessibility laws (e.g., EN 301 549, WCAG 2.1+).
• Create design systems, prototypes, and user flows using Figma, while prioritizing accessibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and QA professionals.
• Conduct thorough design audits and actively contribute to improvements in accessibility across products.
• Promote inclusive design principles and practices within the team.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in designing accessible digital interfaces for web and mobile.
• Strong proficiency in using Figma and implementing accessibility-first design processes.
• Solid understanding of EU accessibility legislation and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with WCAG guidelines (2.1 AA or higher).
• Ability to work independently within a remote, cross-functional team.
• Must be located within the EU time zone.

Nice to Have

• Experience in public-sector or regulated industry projects.
• Familiarity with assistive technologies such as screen readers and keyboard navigation.
• Background in UX research or testing with diverse user groups.
