Visual Designer

Responsibilities

  • As a Senior Visual Designer, you'll play a key role in evolving the client's visual language and system, ensuring its consistent and impactful expression across their platform.
  • You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design surgeon-facing applications that are visually compelling, consistent, and delightful to use.
  • Develop clinical knowledge to build familiarity with the use of products and services in a healthcare context.
  • Use storytelling skills to communicate design decisions verbally and visually, gaining consensus from product and research partners.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to deliver pixel-perfect designs and documentation in regular release cycles.
  • Translate visual language principles into clear, actionable documentation and guidelines for adoption by design and engineering teams.
  • Partner with the broader Visual Design team to drive consistency across the product ecosystem and contribute to refining UI components, patterns, and template libraries.
  • Assist in producing scalable assets such as icons and illustrations with a systematic design approach.
  • Follow product timelines and prioritize project work with cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in design reviews and QA processes to ensure fidelity and consistency across all feature implementations.

Skills

  • Education/Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in visual design, product design, or similar roles, ideally within tech or digital product environments.
    • Proficiency in Figma and industry-standard tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, or similar.
    • A portfolio showcasing excellent visual craft and systematic thinking, particularly in areas like iconography, illustration, typography, or motion.
  • Nice-to-Have Skills:
    • Strong storytelling skills to visually and verbally communicate design decisions.
    • Experience designing end-to-end user interfaces for a wide range of products and services.
    • Passion for accessibility and creating inclusive designs.

Benefits

  • 💼 This is a full-time, hybrid opportunity (onsite 3 days/week) with a 6-month contract and the possibility of an extension.
  • 💰 Compensation for this position is expected to be $80-$100/hour, depending on experience level and fit.
