UX Visual Designer (design systems/branding/visual comm)
Responsibilities:
- Role Overview: As a UX Visual Designer for the Deloitte DT-US Product Engineering team, you will be tasked with solving complex challenges through elegant, user-centered design solutions
- Work closely with UX researchers, interaction designers, product managers, and engineers from initial concept strategy through execution
- We are looking for a passionate and experienced visual designer who will play an important role in creating visual elements of UI delight and executing on UI production
- You will also contribute to visual communications that help teams align and make decisions, creating executive-ready decks and storytelling artifacts that translate complex product ideas into clear, compelling narratives
- Responsible and accountable for visual design and UI production for a product or product area
- Craft beautiful, functional, compelling, and memorable designs that delight the user
- Lead the exploration of design aesthetics, from conceptual development to final visual execution
- Produce high-quality visual concepts, sketches, and polished designs
- Drive and contribute to initiatives around design frameworks including our Design Systems to unify experiences with a strong creative vision
- Develop graphic assets, including user interfaces, icons, and visual mockups
- Contribute to and help evolve our UI Design System by creating and maintaining reusable components, iconography, and visual patterns (including variants, states, and usage guidance/documentation).
- Design and refine icon sets and component visuals to ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across products and platforms.
- Collaborate closely with UX designers to create and iterate on designs
- Engage with empowered product teams from initial concept through to final production and documentation of visual design guidelines
- Present compelling visual design concepts and communicate innovative ideas effectively to stakeholders
- Partner closely with engineers on interface implementation and bring design ideas to life
- Collaborate with user researchers and influence insight studies related to the discovery and understanding of unresolved interface problems and needs
- Continuously challenge design effectiveness stay up to date on behavioral analytics, monitor success metrics, and recommend changes as appropriate
- Embrace a curious and risk-taking mindset, asking insightful questions and championing innovative ideas
- Stay informed of current design trends, best practices, and methodologies in UX, information architecture, and UI design
- Create visual communications deliverables (e.g., product/storytelling decks, one-pagers, and simple infographics) to support stakeholder alignment, roadmap storytelling, and design rationales.
- Produce simple motion/animation assets as needed (e.g., UI walkthroughs, micro-interactions, short loops) to communicate interaction intent and elevate product storytelling.
Skills:

- 5+ years of relevant experience (educational and/or professional) in UX/UI design, with a background in digital design, creating simple, intuitive, and elegant user interfaces based on usability principles
- Strong foundation in design fundamentals, with the ability to apply them across various digital platforms
- Imaginative yet pragmatic, balancing creative vision with practical design solutions
- Creative problem-solver, adept at moving seamlessly between strategic thinking and detailed execution
- Highly skilled at applying strategic thinking and aligning business goals with design, while incorporating user feedback to enhance both visual design and interaction
- Inspire and influence others through your work, consistently setting high standards for design excellence
- Expert in designing visual comps and UI, as well as creating cohesive visual systems
- Expert understanding of information architecture, user interface design principles, interaction design, user research methodologies, and style guide creation
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to both cross-functional product teams and executives
- Passionate about solving user pain points through thoughtful and impactful design
- Collaborative, open-minded, and eager to learn, with a positive attitude and growth mindset
- Able to iterate quickly, incorporating feedback to continuously improve designs
- Expert knowledge of design tools such as Adobe CC, Sketch, Figma, Zeplin, InVision, and similar applications
- Demonstrated experience supporting or contributing to a design system, including creating/maintaining UI components and iconography
- Strong visual communication ("deck craft") skills, including building clear, executive-ready presentations and storytelling artifacts
- Working capability with simple animation/motion tools and principles to communicate interaction and elevate product narratives
- BA/BS degree in Graphic Design, Design Communication, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
- Ability to travel 0-10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience and visual design skills is required
- Bonus Areas of Expertise: Experience working with branding, Experience working on a design style guide, Experience working with a Design System, Experience leading Design Thinking workshops including planning and facilitation

- The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs
- A reasonable estimate of the current range is $93,000 - $191,000
- You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
