Creative Lead

Responsibilities

  • You'll own the full creative arc from concept approval through production handoff
  • You'll lead writers, shape episodic structure, and ensure every project enters production locked, clear, and built to retain
  • You move fast, make decisions with incomplete information, and maintain high creative standards without slowing the machine
  • This role sits at the intersection of creative excellence and operational reality
  • Lead creative development of longform concepts, scripts, and episodic structures — including elimination formats, timed physical challenges, and narrative competition arcs
  • Shape shortform content (YouTube Shorts and platform-optimized clips from longform), as well as social posts, to align with brand voice and retention mechanics
  • Engineer hooks, escalation, and payoff into every narrative arc
  • Ensure simplicity, clarity, and emotional stakes are present across all work
  • Guarantee all creative aligns with Limitless’ Mission & Vision, pipelines, and narrative North Star
  • Own creative workflow from ideation handoff to production greenlight
  • Maintain version control, documentation, and approval gate standards
  • Run structured creative reviews with clear, actionable feedback
  • Lock scope before production begins - every time
  • No Project enters production without a fully locked and approved creative package
  • Collaborate with Production to ensure concepts are executable within scope and schedule
  • Partner with Post to preserve narrative clarity and pacing through edit
  • Align on packaging: titles, thumbnails, and audience positioning
  • Lead a team of writers and creative contributors across multiple productions per quarter
  • Set creative standards, collaborate in writers' room sessions, and mentor junior creative staff
  • Build repeatable creative systems that scale as production volume grows
  • On-Set Creative Stewardship
  • Support Directors in maintaining narrative clarity on the day
  • Protect story integrity within the production hierarchy
  • Minimize reactive, day-of pivots that destabilize crew execution

Skills

  • 5–10+ years in digital-first content, YouTube, or premium unscripted (challenge, competition, or stunt formats strongly preferred)
  • A track record of structuring stories for measurable retention. You know what a retention graph tells you and how to fix what it's showing
  • Experience leading writers' rooms or creative teams with multiple contributors
  • Deep fluency in YouTube audience behavior: CTR, AVD, retention curve mechanics, and hook engineering
  • Comfort operating inside structured systems and approval workflows. You see process as an enabler, not a constraint
  • A strong portfolio of longform content you've developed, structured, or story-produced — with results
  • A collaborative instinct and the confidence to hold a creative position without needing to be the loudest voice in the room
