Principal UX Designer, Voice & AI UX, UI 🏆

At Motorola Solutions we are looking for a UX, UI engineer!

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Research teams to ensure cohesive project execution.
Adapt to quickly changing priorities and contribute to a fast-paced, agile innovation environment.
Promote a user-centered approach in the integration of AI technologies.
Identify opportunities to utilize AI (including ML, NLP, and generative AI) to address user challenges and create innovative experiences.
Lead the design and development of user-friendly voice user interfaces (VUI) and multimodal experiences for critical applications.
Define and enhance voice interaction models, dialogue flows, and persona guidelines for AI-driven features.
Work with AI engineers and researchers to turn natural language processing (NLP) capabilities into effective spoken interactions.
Conduct user research and usability testing focused on voice commands and multimodal interactions.
Help develop best practices, ethical guidelines, and design standards for Human-AI interactions including voice and conversational AI within our organization.
Stay updated on advancements in AI and their implications for experience design and research.
Communicate research results, design concepts, and AI innovations effectively to varying audiences.
Transform customer insights into groundbreaking designs that enhance public safety applications.
Optimize design processes, contribute to the establishment of best practices, and maintain exceptional design quality.
Advocate for design excellence and help evolve the UX culture within our organization.

Skills:

Bachelors or Masters degree in HCI, Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Over 8 years of demonstrated experience in design fields such as UX, CX, Interaction Design, or Product Design, specifically in Voice User Interface (VUI) design and multimodal interaction design.
Experience guiding or mentoring design direction is beneficial but not mandatory.
A strong portfolio that showcases exemplary UX design for applications and services, particularly highlighting projects related to AI and Voice UI/conversational design.
Comprehensive understanding of core Artificial Intelligence concepts, including Machine Learning (ML), Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Generative AI, along with their potential and ethical implications.
Proven ability in designing and prototyping voice user interfaces, with an understanding of defining grammars, intents, slots, and dialog flows.
Exceptional analytical and critical thinking abilities for identifying user needs and transforming them into design challenges.
Strong passion for advocating user-centric design.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills to effectively work in a multidisciplinary setting and convey complex ideas clearly.
Willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies in the rapidly changing AI landscape, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
