UX Designer III - Data Experiences
Responsibilities:
- As a UX Designer III at Walmart, on the Data Experiences team, you'll be designing expert systems to support both financial and people data internal platforms
- You will bring together multiple data sources to help our financial and people data partners gather insights, build confidence in our data explainability, and ultimately help make critical business decisions
- You’ll set the vision for the best customer experience and create a space for cross-functional colleagues to collaborate
- You will use your knowledge of the Design Thinking process to collaborate with partner teams, conduct research, facilitate conversations, create concepts, run design sprints, and build rapid prototypes to leverage the collective creativity
- You’ll employ your great strengths in storytelling to present your vision and product design rationale in a compelling, convincing manner to cross-functional partners and the leadership team
- While working with partners to determine a shared plan forward that balances business and technology considerations, you will create and champion an experience that is highly usable before delivering pixel-perfect designs
- In addition, you’ll be an integral part of driving inclusive, scalable, and useful solutions to a broad set of teams, transforming complex information and tasks into easy-to-use patterns that comprise one of our sub-design systems
- To do this, you’ll create scalable solutions that balance business, technology, and brand considerations
- You will create and champion an experience that is highly engaging and usable and deliver pixel-perfect detailed designs
- You will build relationships with your product, engineering, and brand partners to evangelize the power of design systems and embed them across the organization
- By combining multiple data sources, the team supports partners in gaining insights, enhancing data explainability, and enabling informed business decisions
- The team emphasizes user-centered design, usability testing, and effective stakeholder communication to deliver intuitive and reliable solutions
- Collaboration across functions ensures alignment with business goals while maintaining high standards in interface and interaction design
- This team plays a key role in shaping data-driven platforms that empower decision-making within the organization
- You practice user centered design and believe in inclusion
- Strategic and tactical points of view to maintain and build design guidelines, such as style guides, pattern libraries, and components that ensure consistency in visual design, interaction design, and user experience
- A vested interest in the governance of Walmart’s design system, providing feedback on designs submitted by other designers to ensure alignment with the design system
- You inspire, coach, and contribute to our team culture
- Designing at the highest level of craft for a broad population of Walmart users
- Leading a program of work and collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional partners through delivery
- Creating the experience strategy and setting the design direction for the program that delivers on the user needs and business goals
- Actively soliciting feedback from peers and cross-functional stakeholders though the product design lifecycle
- Engaging the design research team at the right points during the design process to ensure the right insights inform the work
- Rapid prototyping and experimenting in a fast-paced environment
- Creating scalable experiences in partnership with our Design System team
- Working with our Design System team to expand the component library
- Communicating effectively with kindness and empathy
- Collaborating seamlessly with cross-functional partners
- Staying up to date with the latest trends, in and out of retail

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in UI/UX design, graphic design, visual communication, product design, computer science, information technology, or related area and 2 years’ experience in UI/UX, interactive and visual design, electronics art, multimedia design, or related area
- Design certification (for example, IDEOU - Foundations in Design Thinking Certificate), Driving product development in a user experience area, Master's degree in UI/UX Design, Interactive and Visual Design, Product Design, or related area, Related industry experience (for example, retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare), UI/UX, Interactive and Visual Design, Electronics Art, Multimedia Design, or related area, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
